Why have these video baby monitors been recalled?

The battery inside of the baby monitor can malfunction, overheat and burst, posing a fire hazard.

Which models are recalled?

The recalled Zoobys have battery model number HJ554050 batch 2136. 

What is the company doing?

Infanttech is contacting all known purchasers.

Where were these monitors sold?

they were sold online at infanttech.com and Amazon.com from January 2022 through May 2023 and the prices ranged from $130 and $190.

What should consumers do?

Immediately stop using the recalled baby monitor.

Next, using a small screwdriver, unscrew the battery door on the bottom of the plush camera. 

Check the battery and if the battery shows the markings 554050 which is the model number and 2136 which is the production batch number this is a model that has been recalled.

Is there a refund from Infanttech?

Infanttech is providing replacement batteries.

My thoughts


While it is great to hear Infanttech is contacting known purchasers directly, I would love for products like this to be tested once they arrive in the US from China to ensure the batteries do not catch on fire.
