Buffalo Games has issued a recall for its Chuckle & Roar Ultimate Water Beads Activity Kits, which were sold exclusively at Target. 

The recall has been initiated due to serious ingestion, choking, and obstruction hazards associated with the product.

Hazard

If a child ingests a water bead from the kit, it can expand inside the body, posing serious risks such as ingestion, choking, intestinal obstruction, severe discomfort, vomiting, dehydration, and even death.

Deaths

Buffalo Games has received a report of a tragic incident where a 10-month-old child from Wisconsin passed away in July 2023 after swallowing the recalled water beads. 

Injuries 

Another report from November 2022 mentioned a 9-month-old child from Maine who was seriously injured after swallowing the beads, leading to an intestinal obstruction that required surgical intervention.

Product Description

The recalled Chuckle & Roar Ultimate Water Beads Activity Kit comes in a purple container. 

The kit includes 2 ounces of “jumbo” water beads, 6 ounces of “regular” water beads, a clear container with a lid, five small toy fish, a scissor scoop, tweezers, a scoop with a handle, 10 activity cards, and instructions. 

The product's UPC Number is 079346627035, which can be found on the back of the purple box.

Sales Information

The activity kits were available for purchase at Target stores nationwide and online at Target.com between March 2022 and November 2022. 

Each kit was priced at approximately $15. The products were manufactured in China and imported by Target Corporation, based in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Consumers are urged to immediately stop using the recalled water beads and keep them away from children.
